In his written statement, Dinçer noted that the mining sector, which contributes to a value formation of nearly 40 billion dollars by producing raw materials for other sectors, closed 2019 with an export of 4.3 billion dollars and that the share of natural stone was 1.864 billion dollars. Drawing attention to the fact that 80 of the 90 types of minerals produced in the world are found in Turkey, Dinçer reported that there are also 150 different types of natural stone. Sharing the information that Turkey has a variety of 650 marbles, Dinçer said, "We are working to evaluate such a great wealth at a point where it will contribute more to the country's economy. Turkish minerals are used in 197 countries and our goal from now on is to deepen in the markets." Dinçer also reminded that Turkey pays approximately 25 billion dollars every year for imported coal, iron ore, gold, copper, lead, zinc and many minerals and metals, and noted that this picture needs to change. Referring to the new mining law prepared by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and planned to be enacted in the first quarter of 2020, Dinçer noted the following: "We expect the law prepared by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to bring dynamism to the sector. If everything goes as planned, the sector will continue on its path with the new law in the first quarter of 2020. We demand that the law be based on the principle of warning, not punishment, and that license cancellations be made more difficult. We believe that easing the permit processes will also revitalize the sector." Stating that if the law is enacted, many facilities operating at half capacity today will be able to switch to full capacity production, Dinçer stated that they organize trade delegations to different countries every month in order for the sector to reach its goals. In 2019, Turkish mining companies visited 20 different countries and emphasizing that they organize trade delegation organizations to promote natural stone, Dinçer announced that they will continue these delegations in 2020. Stating that they will attend the largest fair in the region, "Coverings The Global Tile and Stone Experience" in the USA in 2020, Dinçer said, "We are preparing for this organization with great care because the target and leading market for processed natural stone is America. In addition, İMİB will be representing the 'Marmomac Stone, Design and Technology' fair to be held in Verona, Italy with national participation." Aydın Dinçer, President of the Istanbul Mineral Exporters' Association, said, "We expect the law prepared by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to bring dynamism to the sector."
